I've been buying $50-60 of food every 1-2 months from Vitacost.com for several years. Their prices are competitive, they have a good and reliable selection, good customer communication, fast and reliable shipping. I'm a satisfied customer and often recommend to friends. Also appreciate their frequent discounts.
They cancelled one item from our order that turned out to be out of stock. However, they did not credit the full amount of the charge back, for no obvious reason. I communicated a number of times by email and attempted to call unsuccessfully, and they did nothing. In addition, one item was shipped in a bag with no cushioning and it arrived totally smashed, while two other items were left off the shipment entirely with no explanation and no credit. STAY AWAY!

I wrote the company an email asking for non-plastic packaging for two glass bottles of sunflower oil. What I got was enough plastic to make a pair of arm floaties, thanks to two big squares of double-ply foam. I have purchased this product before and it was wrapped very well in paper and cardboard. Not only can sustainable packaging do the trick, but it must. On top of everything, although the bottles said refrigerate after opening, they were both sent with large cold packs. This kind of overkill, ecologically speaking, kills.
I was told a refund would not be issued because they are not accepting returns. The product All Max Leucine powder does not dissolve in water. I met their terms (purchase in US and request within 60 days of purchase) and yet they deny my request. According to their website, a refund was issued
And when I followed up one week later, I was informed of their decision. Nowhere on their website does it say "all sales final" or "we reserve the right to reject requests for refunds". They can choose to take items back but to refuse a refund of less than $60 is pathetic and bad business practice.
They really have gone downhill. Use to ship items secured in boxes with wrap. Last two times I have ordered the product's have come in just a bag and both times the glass vitamin bottles have broken. I tried to file for a return in the account never ever did they contact me back. I had to contact my bank to get a refund. What a joke. Unsubscribed from ever getting spam from this company again oh and yeah never EVER purchasing from again. Look elsewhere.

I've been buying with them for a number of years. Now my account is gone. Customer service just says sorry, they can't find any account on me and I have to create a new one. Customer service rep said they spoke to a "supervisor" and said they said "you need to create an account because you haven't in the past that's why we don't see you in the system. Completely incorrect. I've always logged into my account and reordered off my history. Terrible customer service and supervisor. Lost a customer.
I've bought here for years.
Not many issues with the products or shipping.
Now they get one star because I checked all the right boxes in my email preferences MONTHS AGO and they were to send me ZERO emails except for the CRUCIAL ones relating directly to my account.
Now I am getting requests for surveys thanks to their disrespect. I am no longer a customer.

The box came with no packing in-between glass jars, several were broken and leaking in the box. A heavy container of laundry liquid was in the box with the glass jars and the cap wasn't screwed on. Most of the order was ruined, broken glass and sticky everywhere. Have ordered from them for years, they used to package the boxes better, they are good about replacing things, but it is so wasteful and careless to pack a shipping box like that.
I got an email from Vitacost saying the box had been delivered. Turns out that delivery was a shipment FedEx sent back to them because of a poor quality box. I finally did a chat and the agent told me the shipment wouldn't have been sent if I had not made this inquiry. They charged me and had no intention of giving me my products. Vitacost sure has gone downhill.

They claim quick international shipping. I paid extra for shipping to Colombia South America. Package went to Germany then mailed regular mail from there. Took over 6 weeks. Customer service said call back after 75 days DHL had no record of tracking number. Package was received but frustrating process.
I have been a loyal Vitacost customer for at least 15 years. Today was the final straw -- I received an order with two liquid items (coconut milk) completely demolished, soaking the package and destroying everything else in the order. After spending an hour cleaning up this mess, I tossed everything that was destroyed out and contacted Vitacost for a whopping refund of $5.00. Get this: no picture, no refund. I explained to the customer service person that everything was in the dumpster, and she said 'no photo, no refund.' My response was: after spending thousands of dollars with your company, you want me to go to the dumpster to take a photo?' No thanks. I'll never order anything from them again. I hope this review steers any potential customers away from this company. They do not value their loyal customers.

Good luck getting email or chat to connect. I phoned, and the agent was pleasant but completely unequipped to execute corrections to the order, or to make anything right, really.
1. Promised discount showed up in my cart when I placed the order, but was not reflected in my credit card charge.
2. No way to communicate the issue except by phone, which didn't fix anything.
3. There is now no record of my order at all in my account. No order, no shipment, no tracking. Only the charge on my card.
ETA: You can try their email at *******@vitacost.com, because their website form does not connect. I did get an automated response.

Was waiting for an update on my order and contacted them by email no response, contacted them by the chat and rep said they were waiting for information from me. Did not say what was needed and was going to have someone email me. No one ever did. Tried the chat again and no response. Called to cancel order and they said to late it is shipped. Really? So why was the order delayed and what did they want? Would never order from this company again. Have since purchased product from another company and received it already.

I ordered 5 bottles of a medicinal mushroom supplement for my dog who was diagnosed with lymphoma. Within 2 weeks(well within the 60 days) of receiving my order, I requested to return 4 of the bottles for a refund. I filled out the "request" and some days later after going to the live chat was told no returns are being accepted and that the "credit team" reviewed my request and refunded (1) of the (4) bottles. Despite 2 additional live chats, the last with " the highest authority" (the supervisor), absolutely no regard or attempt was made by the customer "satisfaction" representative to try to make this customer satisfied is any possible way. The rep just kept typing " we are not accepting returns at this time" and "the credit team refunded 1 as a courtesy". I might add that my account clearly states "ALL items in this order were refunded"! Lies! Only 1 of the 4 requested was refunded. I would not repurchase or recommend Vitacost for the exceedingly poor customer service. Inexcusable in 2023. For the record, nothing was highlighted at time of purchase that returns are not accepted on that item. They are in sealed, intact, original packing as a non heat sensitive item. There is zero, none, reason why they couldn't be returned or at the very least so additional concessions made to achieve a degree of satisfaction.

In the many years of ordering from this company,I've only had a few problems,which were handles promptly online.And I order at least once a month,usually twice. I simply cannot believe these bad reviews as I've never experienced such as these reviews claim. Great company that I trust completely.

Very good pricing, never problems with credit card or delivery promptness. Their Vitacost-brand items are always great formulas, great prices and quality above average. Of course in the recent past, there were supply-chain issues (like everywhere else), but that's cleared up though some companies went out of business. I've been a steady customer for about 20 years. I rely on them, period.

Several of my orders have been incomplete after arriving very late. These people are very incompetent. Far too many mistakes to do business with.
Ordered and paid by credit card and said 4-5 day delivery and after 8 days I go to site and it still said processing. I talked to a rep on their site and he said canceled. I ask why and was not told but would get email. I tokes him I was at that time looking at statement showing i paid and he said no. I was right though. He said I could resubmit order but told him I wasn't going to allow them to rip me off twice. Next day I had credit card company take off charge. Very bad company and terrible customer relations.
Last 2 orders sent back damaged. Decided to order again. Order came in a plastic bag with everything inside busted up. Been ordering for years no problems. Trying to save money on shipping I quess.
And after sending them a picture of the bottomless bottle, their customer service did not reply at all,
I sent a few Emails with just an automatic reply saying they will be back with an answer and that was the last I heard from them
I had been a loyal customer for 10+ years. Over the last few years, I've noted that customer service has gone downhill, but out of loyalty, kept going back assuming that they'd struggling with staffing issues as so many companies did during the pandemic. But things there never got better. Recently I contacted them after they sent an item that was unsealed during shipping and leaked everywhere - and had clearly been unsealed when it was packed because it smelled noticeably rancid. They demanded pictures, which I sent. And then there was no response at all. Nothing. No refund. No email. No apology. No explanation. I won't be shopping there ever again and absolutely cannot recommend them to anyone.
Well, they save you a couple dollars, you have to wait a long time to get your goods. They promised three days and it's typically three times that length or longer to get a delivery. Their customer service is really slow to respond and hold times. Are hours if you try to call. You have to ask if the money you save is worth the hassle. Sometimes they shipped the wrong product or make you buy a minimum no product and sneak in that fact. They have really gone downhill in the last months

I ordered items from Vitacost on 6//6/23 and I noted today 6/10 that they were "still processing" for my order and were told by Glenn on chat: "Upon checking, this order is currently on hold and we need to confirm billing details to proceed." I did not receive any email from Vitacost asking for additional info nor was any email in spam. I am very disappointed that Vitacost did not contact me nor ask for any "details". I can order these products from Target and pick them up in 3 hours. Vitacost is usually good and I receive my order within days.

Silly me, I decided to try them again for the same vitamins but on a different trip. This time, I proactively reached out to CS to ensure the order would be shipped in a timely fashion. Their messed up chat and online email form was not functioning that day, so I tried emailing them using the address I had used previously.

The next day I tried the (once again very wonky, NOT mobile friendly) chat platform and this time got through to someone.
Order put on hold: need billing verification. Would be sending an email to request this.
